Authentic Algarve

For those who want to leave Casa de Cabanas (it's easy to stay here for a week, and time flies by), the choices are many and all great. Cabanas beach is undoubtedly one of the must-see destinations. Accessible by boat at a mere 200 meters from Casa da Cabanas, this beach is located on one of the islands of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, where the seven km long stretch of sand and the calm, warm waters are the hottest attractions.

Still in Cabanas de Tavira, a village founded in the early 20th century by tuna fishers, one of the best restaurants in the Algarve, Noélia & Jerónimo, invites you to taste the best of regional cuisine. Once in Tavira, explore the picturesque town on foot and enjoy its unique atmosphere, the beautiful buildings, the salt flats and the castle overlooking the surrounding landscape.

For sports lovers, the options are plenty, from canoeing in the Ria Formosa, running on the beach or cycling on the beautiful inland roads. There are also boat trips along the Ria Formosa, hikes to the São João da Barra fort and observing the animals and flora of the Natural Park. If there is still time, you can visit Cacela Velha and its beach at the end of the barrier island.

An extensive beach of seven kilometres and the warm waters of Praia de Cabanas guarantee a day well spent

Tavira

With a history that dates back to the beginning of the first millennium, Tavira is a city full of history, monuments and unique architecture. Known for its beautiful churches and hermitages, the town has a castle overlooking the surroundings and a beautiful Roman bridge. In addition to its history, Tavira is perfect for finding the best ingredients (fresh fish, figs, oranges, honey and salt ) of the region in the local market, eating in typical restaurants, visiting the salt pans and discovering artisanal products.

Eating ice cream from Delizia and sitting on the benches near the Gilão River is the best way to cool off on the hottest days
